By Design Dental Implant Center announced the final recipient for a brand new smile

Philadelphia, PA (October 20, 2015) —By Design Dental Implant Center announced the final recipient of the charitable Share a Smile program as 21-year-old Steven Corleto, of Langhorne, PA.

The Share a Smile program produced 344 qualified local applicants, making the final decision heart wrenching. Born with a genetic disorder that hindered the full growing potential of his teeth, Mr. Corleto has endured grave embarrassment and self-esteem issues, and although charismatic and personable, continues to face struggles on a daily basis. Mr. Corleto hid behind braces and retainers throughout his middle and high school careers, which was the only thing that made him feel like he fitted in. Today, he is a local barber and is constantly face to face with people every day. Having teeth that he will no longer need to hide behind is sure to boost his self-esteem, improve his career success, and better his health and ability to eat.

There have been many tears for this humble young man, mostly for the loving woman who sent in his application for this program, his mother. “I know it kills her because she can’t help me,” said Mr. Corleto. “It would definitely mean a lot to me to get something like this, and I know it would mean a lot to her, too. I’m thankful for this opportunity.”

Led by Dr. Robert Mogyoros, Dr. John Thaler, and dental lab director Rand Jaslow of By Design Dental Implant Center, the charitable Share a Smile program received a tremendous amount of response from Greater Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Awareness of the program was raised largely through social media. On one Facebook post alone, 92,280 people were reached, resulting in 175 shares, 212 likes, and 50 comments. The community support and encouragement they received was overwhelming.

Mr. Corleto will undergo a procedure known as the All-on-4® Treatment Concept. This technique is a highly sought after dental implant procedure noted for its minimal recovery time, natural look and appearance, as well as its ability to restore oral function. The All-on-4® Treatment Concept has become a popular choice among those who are seeking an alternative to dentures and looking for a permanent solution for replacing a full arch of teeth. This unique team of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, prosthodontist, and master laboratory technician will allow Mr. Corleto to complete the entire procedure at their state-of-the-art dental implant center in King of Prussia, PA.

In addition to restoring oral function and a natural smile, the Share a Smile program aims to improve Mr. Corleto’s overall quality of life by addressing other specific needs. Community members interested in becoming a partner in the program are encouraged to contact By Design Dental Implant Center.
